iPhone backup without iTunes


A regular iPhone backup, should performed by each user. The iPhone and the iPad does it by itself, if it is connected to the iCloud. For those who prefer an offline backup, is saving iCloud storage and simultaneously gives no data from the hand. The iDevice Manager provides a function to create and renewal the offline backup, and a search for files in the backup.

Create an iPhone Backup without iTunes


  1. If the iDevice Manager is not installed yet, download the program from here.
  2. Start the iDevice Manager, click the tab "Device Storage" and after then click the button "Backup".
  3. The iDevice Manager is checking at first whether the iPhone or iPad backup is up-to-date. If the latest backup date older then 3 days, should it be renewed.
    Create new iPhone backup The information message should confirmed with Yes.
  4. This ensures that the backup is frequently renewed.
  5. iDevice Manager data backup can be used by iTunes for a recovery case. The iDevice Manager stores the backup in the same folder like iTunes.
  6. Click the green button "Create new backup" to start the backup process.
  7. That's all.

The backup may not be encrypted with iTunes, otherwise is it not readable.

Depending on the iPhone or iPad version, the speed of the PC, the USB port speed and the timeliness of data backup, takes the process to be completing several minutes. Do not worry, the process will be terminate, even if it takes longer.

Factory-Reset of iPhone and iPad


  1. If the iDevice Manager is not installed yet, download the program from here.
  2. Start the iDevice Manager, click the tab "Device Storage" and after then click the button "Erase iPhone".
  3. If you are sure to erase the iPhone completely and reset it to factory defaults, confirm the message with Yes.
  4. The iPhone will restart and erase all data and Apps.
  5. At the end of this process, is it possible to reinstall the iPhone with a backup and install the lost Apps and settings.
  6. This function is useful, e.g. if the iPhone is to be sold.
  7. The same works with the iPad.
Information!
The reset process can not be stopped. If there is no backup in the iCloud or on the computer, all data will be lost irrevocably.
